FC Hegelmann has handed the creative reins to its supporters by inviting fans to vote on the club’s future match kits, turning a traditionally internal decision into a community-led decision. The initiative, launched by the club’s marketing team, gives fans a direct say in choosing between multiple home and away designs.
The idea is being done through the clubs Instagram, and lets fans decide between three different home and away strips, with the one that is voted for the most being the clubs kits for the 2026 A lyga season.
Baltic Football News spoke to the club about the idea and why it came about. ‘The idea behind the kit voting is quite simple: we genuinely want our community to feel involved and heard. Football clubs today are not only about what happens on the pitch – they are about identity, belonging and shared ownership. The kit is one of the strongest symbols of that identity, so inviting fans into the conversation felt like a natural step.’
By opening the decision making process to the community, the club aims to solidify its connection with supporters. ‘The initiative came from within the club’s marketing and communications team, as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the relationship between FC Hegelmann and our supporters. While the club, of course, has to take final decisions based on sporting, commercial and technical considerations, we see real value in understanding what resonates most with our fans.’
However, this is not the first time the club has let its supporters engage within the club as previously they have allowed fans to vote for the clubs new mascot. ‘Engaging supporters is very much part of the club’s long-term development strategy. FC Hegelmann is still a growing club, and building a strong, active community around it is just as important to us as results on the field. Initiatives like kit voting help us create a closer connection with our fans and reinforce the feeling that the club is built together with them, not just for them.’
As the club approaches the new campaign, who knows what kit they will be playing in, but you can have your say by heading over to the clubs Instagram.
