FK Kauno Žalgiris will be looking for a new striker ahead of the 2026 season. Following the conclusion of the 2025 campaign, the Lithuanian champions have decided not to extend their contract with Dejan Georgijević.

The 31-year-old forward joined Kauno Žalgiris just before the start of the season and went on to make 36 appearances across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 2 assists.

Georgijević delivered his most memorable performance in the LFF Cup, where he netted four goals against Žalgiris Vilnius, securing Kauno Žalgiris a place in the next round.

“I want to sincerely thank Kauno Žalgiris and everyone at the club for an unforgettable season,” the Serbian striker told Žalgiris.lt in his farewell message.

“It was an honor to wear this shirt and fight alongside my teammates week after week. We experienced many wonderful moments, important victories, tough battles, and memories that will stay with me forever. I thank the coaching staff, the players, and of course the amazing fans for their constant support. I will always remember this season and wish the club all the best in the future.”

Kauno Žalgiris expressed gratitude to Georgijević for his contributions during his time in Kaunas and wished him success in the next stage of his career.
