FK Žalgiris announced on social media that academy product Kajus Bička has signed a new contract keeping him in Vilnius until the end of the 2027 season.
The 21-year-old, 179cm tall attacking midfielder, who came through the club’s academy system and made 14 A Lyga appearances this year, said the extension reflects both loyalty and ambition.
“I’m very happy that I can continue representing the club where I grew up. I want to thank everyone who contributes to my growth – both as a player and as a person. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season, when we’ll be able to meet our fans at the stadium again,” Bička said.
Bička featured in 14 league and 1 cup matches this season, registering one assist and earning one yellow card. He also made his first and, to date, only appearance for Lithuanian U-21 team in a 2-0 loss to Latvia U-21. Despite limited minutes – around 13% of Žalgiris’ total game time – the club sees him as a long-term piece of its midfield structure and part of its new academy-centric development strategy.
