Estonian international Mattias Käit continued his strong season as Thun claimed a 2-1 away victory over league leaders St. Gallen, extending the team’s impressive start in the Swiss Super League.

The 27-year-old started and played the full match, collecting his first yellow card of the season. After suffering consecutive defeats to Basel and Young Boys, Thun looked to reverse their fortunes against league leaders St. Gallen.

All the goals came in the first half: Franz-Ethan Meichtry put Thun ahead, St. Gallen equalized in the 35th minute, and league top scorer Christopher Ibayi restored Thun’s lead just before halftime. Kait’s presence and composure helped Thun claim a vital win, temporarily moving them to the top of the table after eight games.

Meanwhile, in Norway’s second tier, Markus Soomets and his IK Start ended a three-game losing streak with a 4-0 victory over Raufoss. The 25-year-old midfielder played the full match and has now made 12 appearances since joining from Dutch second division side Den Bosch over the summer. Thanks to this win, Start climbed to second place in the league with five rounds remaining.
