In the final Premium Liiga match of Saturday’s 29th round, leaders FC Flora avoided a major slip-up. Just three days after their derby victory over FCI Levadia, Flora needed a dramatic 90th-minute winner from Rauno Sappinen to beat bottom-half side Tartu JK Tammeka 2-1 at home.

The first half was mostly uneventful, with Tammeka sitting deep and focusing on defense. But in the 24th minute, Flora found a breakthrough. A clearance from Tanel Lang fell to Nikita Mihhailov, who controlled and unleashed a bouncing strike that flew past keeper Richard Aland – 1-0. That slim lead held into the break.

Tammeka emerged after halftime with more ambition, pushing higher up the pitch. Their plan paid off in the 65th minute: Ezekiel Tanimowo turned past Erko Jonne Tõugjas and threaded a pass to Laurits Õunpuu, who calmly slotted home to level the match – 1-1. From there, the visitors dropped back again, fighting hard to preserve the draw.

Flora piled on the pressure, but Tammeka defended bravely and Aland pulled off several big saves. It seemed the underdogs were set to snatch a point – until stoppage time. Substitute Markus Poom swung in a corner, finding Sappinen lurking at the back post. His header deflected off Tammeka defender and into the net for a dramatic 2-1 winner, sparking wild celebrations around the corner flag.

The victory gives Flora their sixth straight league win and strengthens their grip on first place, moving six points clear of Levadia. The champions won’t have long to rest – in just four days they face Levadia again in another Tallinn derby. As for Tammeka, they return home to host FC Kuressaare on Friday.

FC Flora Tallinn vs Tartu JK Tammeka – 2:1 (1:0)
