Kauno Žalgiris have confirmed the return of Brazilian futsal player Vinicius Carvalho, who will rejoin the team for the upcoming 2025–26 season.
Carvalho, 26, previously played for Kauno Žalgiris in the 2023–24 campaign. Before arriving in Lithuania, he represented Assoeva, Ceara and Sorisso in his native Brazil. After his first spell in Kaunas, he returned home to play for AFI Itaipulandia/Uniguacu, but now makes his way back to the Lithuanian champions.
Explaining his decision, Carvalho pointed to the strong support he received in Kaunas. “When I first joined the team, I felt great trust from the coaches and strong support from the players. The warm welcome from the club, excellent conditions, and the opportunity to compete again in the UEFA Champions League were the main factors behind my decision to return,” he said.
The Brazilian also made clear his goals for the new season. “I am ready to give everything in training and do all I can to help the team on the pitch, especially in the fight to reach the Champions League Elite Round. I see myself as a player who brings value and integrates well into the squad, and I hope to meet all the club’s expectations this season,” Carvalho added.
His return is expected to strengthen Kauno Žalgiris as they aim to retain their dominance in Lithuania and push for success on the European stage.
