
FK Džiugas Telšiai has strengthened its squad with the addition of a new forward, 28-year-old Ronald Sobowale, who holds dual citizenship of England and Nigeria.
Sobowale began his football journey in 2012 when he joined the academy of London giants Chelsea. After spells at various clubs across England, he moved to the Balkans, where he gained valuable experience competing at the top level of football in the region.
In Kosovo, Sobowale played for FC Malisheva, where he scored 19 goals in over 50 appearances. He later transferred to Albanian side KF Laçi, contributing 9 goals in 36 matches. During his time with Laçi, he was briefly loaned back to Malisheva before moving on to another top-tier Kosovan club, FC Prishtina. There, he featured in 14 games and netted one goal.
Throughout his career in the Kosovo top flight, Sobowale has played 63 matches, scoring 20 goals and providing 10 assists. In the Albanian Superliga, he made 36 appearances, scoring 9 times and assisting 4 more. He has also featured in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
In Kosovo Cup competition, Sobowale played six matches, recording three goals and one assist.
Interestingly, Ronald is the cousin of multiple-time Champions League winner David Alaba.
