Latvian champions RFS is riding a wave of enthusiasm as they prepare to host Swedish giants Malmö FF in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Following a well-attended opening-round home match against Estonian side Tallinna Levadia — which drew a crowd of 1,700 to LNK Sports Park — demand for tickets to the upcoming clash has surged to rare heights for Latvian football.

RFS will kick off their second-round campaign at home on Tuesday, July 22, and the match is already shaping up to be a landmark event. All available tickets for the game were snapped up within the first day of sales, a notable feat in a country where such sell-outs are uncommon in the domestic football scene.

Tickets went on sale yesterday at 10:00 AM, and within just 50 minutes, only around 100 seats remained unclaimed. These, too, were gone by the evening, prompting the club to announce that the stadium had reached full capacity for the high-profile encounter.

The rapid sell-out underscores the growing excitement surrounding Latvian football and the historic opportunity for RFS as they aim to take another step closer to make it another long European run.
