FK Kauno Žalgiris has officially announced the mutual termination of its contract with academy product Pijus Nainys.
The 21-year-old defender failed to make an appearance in the current A lyga season, spending most of his time with the club’s reserve team. Last season, Nainys featured in only one top-flight match, while his most active A Lyga campaign came in 2022, when he made five appearances.
Despite being a homegrown talent, Nainys was unable to secure a regular place in the first team. As a result, both parties have agreed to part ways, bringing the player’s chapter with the current A Lyga leaders to a close.
Nainys will now look to continue his professional career elsewhere.
