Gļebs Žaleiko, a 21-year-old central midfielder, has made a mid-season move from FC RFS to FS Jelgava on a loan deal. This transfer adds depth to Jelgava’s midfield as they aim to solidify their position in the Virsliga and as Žaleiko is seeking more playing time.
Žaleiko, known for his tactical awareness and sharp passing, is expected to bring energy, grit and creativity to Jelgava’s lineup. A product of the RFS academy system, Žaleiko has previously been on loan with BFC Daugavpils, making immediate impact on their buildup play. This year, he earned his first cap for the senior Latvia national squad under Paolo Nicolato and will be eager to make an impact in Jelgava’s campaign.
