Uldriķis team ends the losing streak, Auseklis for the second time on the bench in the Serie A

In the German 3. Liga, Roberts Uldriķis played the entire match in a victory for Arminia Bielefeld, while U19 national team goalkeeper Henrijs Auseklis was named to the squad list for Cagliari for the second consecutive time in the Serie A match.

Heading into this game, Roberts Uldriķis and Arminia Bielefeld faced a two-game losing streak. The team eager to secure promotion to the 2. Bundesliga needed a win at home against Aue.

The Latvian forward, who joined Arminia Bielefeld as a free agent from Greek club Athens Kallithea during the winter transfer window, started his fifth consecutive game.

For most of the match, the score remained level, but in the 82nd minute, Arminia Bielefeld took the lead when American midfielder Mael Corboz scored. Just three minutes later, German forward Julian Kania netted his seventh goal of the season, doubling Arminia’s lead.

In the 90th minute, Aue managed to cut the deficit in half, but it was too late, and Arminia Bielefeld ended their two-game losing streak.

After 24 games, Uldriķis and his team are currently 6th in the league table with 37 points, just five points behind second-place SG Dynamo Dresden, which earns automatic promotion to the 2. Bundesliga next season.

Uldriķis and his team’s next match will be on Friday against 1860 Munich.

Serie A, Italy

In the Italian Serie A, 18-year-old goalkeeper Henrijs Auseklis was called up to the first team for the second game in a row and included in the matchday squad as Cagliari faced Champions League side Atalanta.

The match ended in a goalless draw. With this important point, Cagliari is currently 13th in the league table with 25 points.
