Italian Serie B club SS Juve Stabia has officially announced the signing of 26-year-old Lithuanian forward Edgaras Dubickas on loan until the end of the season. Dubickas previously played on loan in Serie C during the first half of the season.
The potential deal for his return to Serie B had been rumored in the days leading up to the announcement. The striker who is under contract with another Serie B side SC Pisa in the first half of the season was loaned out to Italian Serie C side FeralpiSalo where he made 22 appearances scoring five goals this season.
This marks Dubickas’s return to Serie B; he spent the second half of last season on loan from Pisa to FeralpiSalo, where he scored four goals in 14 appearances. However, FeralpiSalo was relegated from Serie B.
Dubickas has been playing in Italy for the past ten years and has represented various clubs, including one appearance in Serie A for Lecce back in 2019. He has nearly 150 appearances in Serie C, during which he has scored 31 goals.
President Andrea Langella welcomed the new Gialloblù striker, stating, “With the signing of Dubickas, we are adding another important element to the squad, allowing the coach to select new players who can support those already performing well. We have shown that we are always ready to intervene when needed, with the goal of ensuring safety, which is essential for us.”
In his first statements for the club, Dubickas expressed his excitement: “I am happy to arrive at a team that is achieving great things in this Serie B championship. I know the warmth of the fans and hope to contribute to both the team and the community. I am familiar with Sports Director Lovisa, as well as Kevin Piscopo, Cristian Andreoni, and Leonardo Candellone, with whom I’ve played before. I am ready to support the coach and contribute to the team’s success.”
Juve Stabia currently is in 7th place in the Serie B league table with 33 points after 24 games.
