FK Paņevezys is continuing its preparations for the upcoming A Lyga season by announcing the signing of Malian defender Abdoul Karim Dante.
The 26-year-old center-back began his football career at Jeanne d’Arc FC in Mali. At the age of 18, he moved to Belgium to join RSC Anderlecht. During the 2017/18 season, he made three appearances for the Anderlecht first team, which were his only matches with the main club.
In 2020, Abdoul transferred to another Belgian side, RWDM, where he played for two seasons and made a total of 32 appearances, scoring three goals.
Most recently, the Malian played in the Luxembourg top league for Swift Hesperange, where he was coached by the new Panevežys manager, Roland Vrabec.
Panevežys first pre-season friendly game will be played on Saturday when they will face last year’s A Lyga 3rd place finish FK Kauno Žalgiris.
